For tennis, the temptation to wear coloured clothing is great. This is all well and good but, if you intend aiming to play at competition level, you should ensure that you have at least one, probably two, all white outfits. For practice and social playing, then the more colourful the better.
Even on the championship courts, the styles have become varied and, at times, almost outrageous. There are some stunning female players with beautiful figures – who can blame them for wanting to show them off? As long as they stay within the regulation guidelines there is no problem.
In all seriousness, tennis clothing should, first and foremost, be comfortable, well-fitting, not too loose or too tight, and made of suitable natural fabrics. Man-made fibres are not as good at helping to maintain body temperature as organic ones, which help to keep perspiration to a minimum. It goes without saying that regulation tennis shoes should be worn but socks made from natural breathable fabrics like cotton are essential, whether or not the weather is warm.

The most obvious way for a shorter women to add inches to her height is to wear heels, and the good news is that heels are sexy, have been in fashion for a long time and will continue to be for a long time. So, unless you have difficulty walking in them, heels are a definite part of the wardrobe of a petite woman.
Colour can also be applied to give the impression of extended height, for example wearing the same colour skirt and boots or if you like stripes only buy clothes with vertical stripes to give the impression of an elongated figure.
Also, the size of your clothes can play an important part in what impression of size you give off. A short skirt that is just below the knee (or even shorter if you are more daring) can give the impression of longer legs.
If you prefer trousers, try to buy trousers with slim legs as wider trousers can make you look shorter. Also hipster or trousers that are tighter round the waste can reduce the size of your hips in comparison to your height.
Finally, if you can afford them, tailored clothes are great for the smaller lady who wishes to appear taller.

The fashion industry has at last acknowledged that we are not all a perfect size 8 and 5 feet 9 inches tall. They now offer ranges to suit the taller lady, those with a fuller figure and the more petite amongst us.
Petite ladies fashion ranges are cut with the smaller lady in mind. Adjustments are made to the trouser and skirt length, the waist positioning and the sleeve length. Even if your favourite fashion shop does not offer a dedicated petite range just stick to these golden rules and you’ll ensure you are a fashion hit.
Choose a skirt length than falls just above your knee, mid calf lengths will make you appear shorter. Jackets should be fitted and finish at the waist. Avoid long sleeved shirts, unless you are confident that the sleeves will look great turned up, shorter sleeves are more flattering. Tunic tops should be avoided at all costs, choose pretty fitted tops in pale shades. Vertical stripes will flatter, horizontal stripes widen and bold patterns will swamp your petite figure. Happy shopping.

I used to be a very reluctant camper. Hiking was just not part of my life what so ever until I meet my husband but I have to admit that he has imporve my life quality in so many ways. It all started with him suggesting that we go camping for our honeymoon, now for a city girl as myself this was the most unheard of, most unthinkable way of celebrating my love and new life together but I went along with doing it because he was so very persistent – and possibly because I was quite young and just refused to admit that there was anything we could not have in common.
Little did I know when I started my journey as a hiking chick that there are actual fashion and brand names for hiking, climbing and camping. I had seen people wearing ruck-sacks that said Karrimor and Low Alpine on them but to think think that other people would judge you based on what you wear in the woods? To strange to comprehend. Mind you though, I came to realise that it’s mostly city folk’s that come out for the odd weekend that will make that judgement. Most people I know just use what’s best within their budget be it a well branded name or not.
These days I know my Helly Hansen from my Haglofs very well and could not be happier with the life style we have. We have hiked all the peaks of the Adirondacks and many of them in the Green Mountains area in the states and are planing on doing the Blue Ridge Mountains at some point within the next couple of years, so far we have explored the Carolinas and it does look great.

For me the best fashion accessories are definitely shoes and bags. Of course I do love jewellery, bangles, necklaces and earrings but I really love bags and shoes.
In my world no outfit is complete without a suitable bag and shoes to accessorise. Occasionally I would wear a hat but only for a very special outing, but I would never go without a suitable bag and shoes. I usually try to match my bag in shoes, if not in brand they definitely in colour. Never listen to those who say a black bag and shoes will do, there are so many variations of black and so many styles to choose from. I have been known to spend more time choosing my bag and shoes that the actual outfit. For a special day out I will look for a designer label but for ordinary outings or going to work I opt for a good high street label such as the designer ranges in Debenhams, John Lewis or Marks and Spencer.
A girl can never have too many shoes or bags, and very often the accessories are more important, they grab attention and show that I care. Attention to detail is crucial it shows that you have made the effort.
